Toy and gift expo opens next week

The 2013 SARCDA toy, gift and decor trade show opens at Gallagher Convention Centre from 22-25 August 2013 to an expected 10,000 verified retail buyers.

With nine out of 10 South African households spend money on gifting, with the average household purchasing around 30 greeting cards in a year, CardCo SA will be exhibiting all its unique products together with exclusive products from gift and gadget distributors, Espriso on Stand A07-12.

The company is the master franchisee in South Africa of Card Group Sweden, acting as distributors and wholesalers of greeting cards, gift bags, stickers, candles and other packaging ideas. It offers display solutions free of charge and greeting cards can be purchased or given on a consignment basis.

Founded in Sweden in 1997, the company achieved early success, expanding quickly throughout Europe prior to becoming global. The group continues to grow and is expanding yearly into many new markets worldwide. Operationally, the group is based upon master franchise led operations in each country, combining the resources and support associated with a major company, with the enterprise, commitment and service of the local franchisee.

MD of CardCo SA Kyriacos Michaelides says, "We are a global company with local presence. The business concept centres around the distribution and sale of our own specialist ranges of innovative high quality greeting cards, gift-wraps, gift bags and associated products designed to give excellent value for money."

Also on exhibit at the CardCo SA stand will be products from Espriso, which is the exclusive distributor in South Africa of gifts, gadgets, novelties and lifestyle products for XD Design, Lexon, DCI Gifts, Paladone, Hi-Fun and Donkey Products. In addition to being sold through retailers, these products are also available on Gemini Octopus, a local online store that offers a revolutionary take on the novelty and gifting industry in South Africa.

"We would like to invite retailers to join us for a coffee at our coffee bar situated in the middle of our open plan stand. Here one of our agents will be available to attend to questions, enquiries and orders," Kyriacos concludes.
