The FNB Whisky Live Festival, claimed to be the largest, liveliest and most entertaining whisky show of its kind in the world, will run at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from Wednesday, 3 November to Friday, 5 November and at the Sandton Convention Centre from Wednesday, 10 November to Friday, 12 November (6-10pm daily).
Showcasing more than 180 local and international whiskies, a host of new releases to the South African market, and a range of luxury lifestyle products, the festival continues to highlight how important South Africa is as a whisky destination and a rapidly-growing market for the spirit worldwide.
Sian Neubert, co-organiser of the festival, says: "We are constantly inspired by the industry's creativity and this year, the whisky brands have not disappointed."
Some exciting stand innovations to look forward to:
- Get transported to Orkney to experience the extreme weather conditions that make Highland Park, a single malt, one of the best whiskies in the world.
- Make a bid to purchase the oldest bottled single malt in the world - the 70-year-old Mortlach, which will be auctioned at the festival, with all proceeds going to the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research (FARR).
- Enjoy a truly unique sonic tasting experience at the Glenmorangie stand.
- Get your very own FNB Whisky Live Festival bottling, a hand-filled single cask bottling of BenRiach Single Malt 1995 Tawny Port Finish.
- Purchase a bottle of Laphroaig, visit the stand to learn how you can claim your very own piece of Scotland, a square foot of land at the Laphroaig distillery in Islay. At the same time, enter the Laphroaig competition and stand a chance of winning a trip for two to Scotland.
- Purchase a bottle of Maker's Mark, take it to the stand and dip it in its trademark red wax. This special bottle will also have a label stating that it was dipped by you at Whisky Live Festival!
- Book a private whisky tasting with Andy Watts, master distiller of Three Ships, and Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky at the festival each evening.
The FNB Whisky Live Festival promotes responsible drinking. No persons under the age of 18 years old will be allowed into the Tasting Hall. RoadTrip and Corporate Cabs will be on hand to ensure that everyone in your party is able to have a good time and arrive home safely. Part of the proceeds will continue to be donated to The Foundation of Alcohol Related Research.
