The newly-refurbished Forum Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg, is where it's all going to happen.
Fourteen of the finest couture designers are set to take part in this glamorous event. The show will give patrons the opportunity to brush elbows with South Africa's chic fashionistas and meet bigwigs in the industry.
This highly anticipated show will be kick-started by perennial favourites Amanda Laird Cherry, followed by Lunar, Ruby, Two, and closes off with Abigail Betz.
On Friday Tido, Rubicon and Lebo Mash will open the day followed by Nhlanhla Nciza's NN Vintage, Rjkay Creations and the fabulous Diamond Face. Saturday sees big names such as Mantsho, House of Ole and Stoned Cherrie, who recently took part in the New York Fashion Week.
According to Fashion Week spokesperson, Estelle Cooper, this year's theme is “Get With the Fashion Programme”. Cooper says the prevailing conditions have forced them to concentrate on growing a thriving design industry with the capacity to create jobs.
“This year's show will address the absence of fundamental business skills. It is time to get real. This year is not about glamour but about reality,” she added.
