2013 Ultimate Beef Challenge joins FoodWineDesign Fair

The Sanlam Investments FoodWineDesign Fair will host the 2013 Ultimate Beef Challenge on Sunday 10 November on the rooftop of Hyde Park Corner. Premium South African beef producers - including Drakensberger, Afrikaner, Charolais, Sussex, Nguni and Wagu will compete against each other, while visitors can compare the quality, taste, tenderness and juiciness of the meat.

The challenge, which is sponsored by Chalmar Beef and hosted by chef Arnold Tanzer, will be judged by an esteemed panel of local and international foodie judges who will sample over 15 different breeds prepared by experienced chefs.

Visitors can be part of the judging by tasting the variety of breeds on offer and voting for their favourite throughout the day.

For those not into beef, there are many more culinary treats on offer. The organisers are flying Italy's champion pesto producer, Roberto Panizza, to the Fair. Others include Bread & Wine chef, Neil Jewell's famous bacon butties and Duncan Doherty's quail special.
