The Nedbank Group is a sponsor and participant in Earth Hour and, as the nation's 'green' bank, has challenged every individual South African, as well as every organisation in the public and private sectors, to switch off their light to send a clear message to the world's leaders that global action can, and should, be taken to address climate change.
Sandton City will show its commitment by switching off the lights in the Office Tower 'cap' - one of Johannesburg's best known landmarks. "The centre is proud to be supporting such an important and valuable initiative for the second year now and demonstrating to the world that working together can resolve the issue of climate change," said Sharon Swain - Sandton City & Nelson Mandela Square centre manager.
