School starter pack donations from Silveray Statmark

‘A Gift for Life', a school starter pack, is one of NPO 1in1out's methods of providing direct links between society and the disadvantaged. It has received a generous donation of 500 hampers packed with writing paper, pens, pencils and other items of stationery from Silveray Statmark, distributors of brands such as Croxley, Parker and Stabilo.

1in1out, which started in 2001, requires the provision of school uniforms, stationery, library books, sports equipment and other miscellaneous items pertaining to schooling. These gifts are then distributed directly into the hands of orphans and vulnerable children in the schools where 1in1out runs feeding schemes.

Lack of literacy is one of the main reasons for widespread poverty, and the company's generous donation will help 1in1out to start changing the future of our illiterate.

As 1in1out says, South Africa needs to empower the destitute homeless to become a part of functional society through skills development and job creation. “It's not someone else's problem,” the organisation states, “It's our problem as communities, government, local government, business, families and individuals. With the charitable support received from companies like this, we can start eradicating the problems.”
