"The Wola Nani book sale provides much needed funding to support those living with HIV and AIDS both with treatment and though providing counselling," comments Well Read Books stall convenor, Mark Leach.
Wola Nani (Xhosa for 'embrace') is a non-profit organisation established in 1994 devoted to helping people living with HIV and AIDS to help themselves, as well as to bring relief to the communities challenged by the HIV crisis. Formed against a background of economic restrictions on welfare spending and a big increase in the number of HIV and AIDS cases, Wola Nani introduced programmes to help HIV + people in the local communities cope with the emotional and financial strains brought about by HIV and AIDS.
