Bay Harbour Market closed for safety renovations

Hout Bay's new Bay Harbour Market, which opened in July 2011, is closed temporarily to carry out critical upgrades that needed to be done to adhere to the fire regulations of the City of Cape Town. It will be reopened in time for the festive season.

"This type of market environment is constantly changing and we have been taken by surprise by the numbers of visitors we have had since we opened and the way our traders have developed their stalls," say Bay Harbour Market founders, Paul Rutzen and Anthony Stroebel.

"This has required that we evaluate the environment better from a safety perspective, particularly as far as fire is concerned. This break has also given us the opportunity to make changes to the venue to improve the visitor experience even further."

The Bay Harbour Market website www.bayharbour.co.za, Facebook www.facebook.com/bayharbour and other social networks will indicate the reopening date.
