Inaugural Avusa Media Annual Recruitment Awards winners
The Avusa Media Annual Recruitment Awards (AMARAs), recognising leaders in HR and recruitment that demonstrated outstanding leadership in fostering talent, driving transformation and growing organisations, were awarded for the first time on Saturday, 30 October 2010.
With a high calibre of entries, together with detailed testimonials, awards were given for the valuable role these industries play in ensuring the success and development of organisations, which in turn helps to further develop the South African economy.
Joseph Kganakga, Saatchi & Saatchi Recruitment Agency MD, was awarded the AMARA Publishers Awards for his outstanding contribution to the recruitment industry for almost 40 years. Kganakga was commended for the innovation and excellence he brought to the sector.

Judges
A panel of experienced judges, who included Ian Mann (MD of Gateway Business Consultants), Johanna McDowell (MD of the Independent Agency Search and Selection Company -IAS), Mawethu Cawe (Avusa group executive HR and transformation) and Alan Hosking (executive editor: HR Future), chose the winners.
