Vote for the best SA recruitment agency

The cut-off date for nominations and voting for the fifth annual Junction Awards is 31 July 2008. Hosted by CareerJunction, the Junction Awards give career seekers the opportunity to vote for South African recruitment agencies that have displayed outstanding and exemplary recruitment practices.

“The Junction Awards have shown an incredible growth since their first inception in 2004. They have become an important event in the recruitment calendar, and we are honoured to be hosting such prestigious awards. We at CareerJunction are proud to be of service to the registered career seekers and recruiters alike. Good luck to the recruiters for this year's Junction Awards,” says Kris Jarzebowski, CEO of CareerJunction, an Avusa Media company.

The following are the nomination criteria that career seekers must rate the recruitment agencies against:

  • Personal service: the agency gives regular feedback to the career seeker.
  • Understanding the career seeker's requirements: the agency matches the candidate's career requirements and aspirations to a job and provides them with accurate information about the job requirements.
  • Advice and guidance: the agency prepares the candidate for the interview with the client by explaining the job requirements thoroughly, as well as providing them with sufficient information about the company to which they have submitted the candidate's details.
  • Negotiation: the agency secured interviews for the job seeker to attend and provided them with adequate post interview feedback.
  • Securing interviews: the agency represented the career seeker and their requirements adequately to the client to whom the career seeker was put forward to.
  • Placement (if placed): the agency successfully placed the career seeker in a job matching their aspirations.
  • Post-placement (if placed): the agency makes regular contact with the candidate to ensure that they are satisfied in their new position.

The Junction Awards are an innovation of career web service CareerJunction and are held in association with Sowetan and Sunday World newspapers for the third consecutive year. “Being faced with a high unemployment rate in our country, it's good to know that we are contributing to help career seekers find a job, through our job market editions, which are specifically targeted and have shown a positive growth since our association with CareerJunction,” says Bongani Keswa, publisher of the two newspapers.

The 2007 Recruiter of the Year winners were Kelly, Quest Flexible Staffing Solutions and Accountants on Call. The 2008 Junction Awards will give CareerJunction's almost 1000 recruitment agencies the opportunity to be nominated for excellent service from the point of view of the candidate.

By participating in the voting, career seekers stand a chance of winning a Thinkpad T61 Laptop worth over R 10 000. Career seekers need to be registered with CareerJunction to vote. Click on the promotional banner on the homepage of www.careerjunction.co.za to vote.
