Legacy champagne on show

To celebrate its bicentenary, champagne house, Perrier-Jouët, has released 100 bottles of its Bi-Centenaire, a living legacy champagne, designed to be passed on to future generations. To achieve this, the vintage has been carefully chosen for its exceptional ageing capacity by current cellar master Hervé Deschamps, the seventh cellar master in the house's 200 year-history.

Guests at the launch, held in late March 2011, saw the unveiling of a new work of art commissioned from American artist Daniel Arsham, designed to embody the spirit of the release. They also enjoyed a champagne-paired celebratory dinner by French chefs, Jean-Louis Nomicos and his mentor Alain Ducasse, who reinterpreted the 1911 Perrier-Jouët Centenary menu paired with Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Cuvées, including the exceptional Cuvée Belle Epoque 1998 in magnum.

The limited releases Bi-Centenaire is available at the champagne house's boutique in Epernay or through the Pernod Ricard network for an average retail selling price of 10 000 euros.
