Public access to Nederburg auction wines

The Bergkelder Vinotèque Wine Bank has set up a simple system that makes it possible for new and current members to bid at the Nederburg Auction. This will reportedly be the first time in the 36-year history of the auction that members of the public will have the opportunity to bid for wines on offer when they come under the hammer on 3-4 September 2010.

Spokesperson for the Vinotèque, Michael van Deventer, explains, "We are pleased to offer this added value opportunity to members of the Vinotèque Wine Bank, who simply need to send us a completed bid mandate form, available in electronic format from our office, with the details of the wines they'd like to acquire so that we can bid on their behalf. Members of the public who are not yet Vinotèque members but are interested in participating at the auction are welcome to join before 16th August via a simple registration process."
