Top retailers to be announced in mid-October
The Times Sowetan Retail Awards 2011, scheduled for mid-October, has as its theme 'Retailers on Display', which promises to be a feast for the eyes. The ceremony's look and feel, which will be housed in the Shine Studio's Train Room in Johannesburg, with its expansive views of the city, will be dominated by the strong use of colour-blocking coupled with simplicity in style and structure, all strongly echoing current international fashion trends.
The results will be derived from the Avusa Media commissioned survey, undertaken by TNS Research Surveys, which conducted a national survey of over 4000 South African respondents. By utilising non-input questions - such as brand familiarity, brand rating experience and brand presence - insights were gained on respondents' favourite retailers.
"It is once again a privilege to be able to honour South Africa's top retailers," says Natalie Stephan, head of trade marketing and CRM at Avusa Media. "In what is still being viewed as a post-recession climate, it is especially important to acknowledge the retailers that are standing the test of time and continue to cater for consumers' basic and luxury needs."
