Woolies' second airport store takes flight

Woolworths opened at Cape Town International, the airport's first retail food and fashion store on Saturday 7 November 2009. This follows its successful launch in the new shopping concourse at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International in April.
Woolies' second airport store takes flight

Open seven days a week from 5am to 11pm, it is a boutique-style 700m² store, situated in the new retail complex between the domestic and international terminals. It offers a mix of food, casual and holiday fashion, beauty and cell phones, which will provide customers with the opportunity to pick up necessities on their way home, or last minute gifts on their way overseas. It also provides the ideal opportunity for the thousands of visitors who pass through Cape Town International every year to get to know and experience the company's quality and service.

The store's ‘to go” counter offers fresh, delicious, ready-to-eat take-aways including freshly made sandwiches and rolls, pressed seasonal fresh juices and the company's organic coffees, prepared to order by a qualified barista.

Woolworths takes to the skies

It's another way the company is helping to make travel as pleasant as possible. Since August, economy class travellers on British Airways regional and domestic flights have been enjoying Woolworth's meals as part of its Café Cloud food service and travellers on Kulula are able to purchase its sandwiches, snacks and beverages on its flights. Now everyone travelling between Cape Town and Johannesburg on any airline will be able to enjoy the company's quality on their journey.
