First specialised concept store for GNC in South Africa

One of the largest global speciality health and wellness retailers, General Nutrition Centre (GNC), has opened its first concept store in South Africa in the new extension of Cresta Shopping Centre in Randburg.

A second concept store has been scheduled to open in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town in May with several more to follow over the next year.

The company has gained a significant following in a relatively short time, having launched in larger Clicks stores throughout South Africa in February 2014.

"Consumers are becoming more health conscious, searching for products and advice to improve their wellbeing," says Sean Kristafor, GM of GNC South Africa. "This is more than just health products; it is a lifestyle brand where people connect with its message of living well and using the highest quality products on the market."

An aggessive marketing campaign, coupled with access to the Clicks ClubCard database has allowed the brand unrivalled market penetration, where customers receive targeted communication based on their lifestyle and health preferences.

The Cresta store will be one of the first in the country to feature the iGlass: an interactive touch screen which consumers can use for product information, to sign up to the newsletter, access the protein number health assessment, watch health and fitness related videos, and interact with the company on social media.
