Security expo opens tomorrow
Organised by Specialised Exhibitions, Securex is one of the premier security, safety, fire and protection solutions exhibitions on the African continent.
While essentially a trade event, Securex is increasingly attracting end users, as government and media initiatives such as Primedia's Crime Line continue to encourage communities to become actively involved in reporting crime and taking responsibility for their own protection.
Jenny Reid, immediate past president of SASA, explains: "If the community doesn't mobilise we're not going to win the battle against crime. Our aim with the workshops is to get people up to date in the fight against crime as much as possible. If Securex can provide them with the tools they need to assist them in this endeavour, so much the better."
Delegates will also have the opportunity to network and find out how to do business with companies in the UK, as well as meet with senior members of the SAPS.
An Interactive Theatre with over 15 hours of demonstrations and discussions on Cutting Edge Technology will be held in Hall 2. More information on Topics is available on the website.
Adding further value to the event is the African National Security Conference 2008, organised by the IIR. The conference will highlight initiatives put in place to ensure effective national security.
Meanwhile, visitors from all over the world are preparing to arrive in Johannesburg for Securex, which last year, attracted nearly 200 visitors from the SADC region, Europe and the Far East.
The exhibition will provide a comprehensive round-up of the latest trends and up-to-the-minute solutions for every security requirement.
