PR & Communications News South Africa

Bizcommunity.com partners with PR-Net

Bizcommunity.com has announced that it is the official media partner of PR-Net, Brian Berkman's national peer network for communications professionals. The first meeting of the year in Gauteng will be on Thursday, 24 February 2005 at the magnificent Westcliff Hotel, with Objectivity's senior partner, Clive Webster, talking about Using Perception Management to Develop an Effective Communications Strategy.

Berkman explains: "Aside from that nice feeling in the gut or a happy client, communications professionals are constantly looking for objective tools to test the efficacy of our campaigns. I'm really excited to hear Webster who, with over 20 years in the industry, is considered a foremost expert in perception management."

In a move that further entrenches the feeling that Jo'burg is about work and Cape Town about play, PR-Net's next Cape Town meeting on Tuesday, 22 February is everything about a party. "Green Catering, one of the Cape's premier corporate caterers is, together with Liquid Chefs and Banks R&L Hiring, showcasing themselves and key event décor specialists to demonstrate various options available for event coordinators. This is going to be one hell-of-a-party!" says Berkman.

Berkman has already teed-up a number of other events for the year. On Wednesday, 16 March, PR-Net will meet at the Grace in Rosebank while the 20 April meeting, probably at the Inanda Club, will host journalism lecturer and media trainer, Marion Scher, as guest speaker.

Cape Town meetings are always held on the last Tuesday of the month. Berkman is in discussion with Cape Town Tourism's Mariette du Toit to speak to PR-Net in March about destination marketing while for April, media supremo and trainer Les Aupiais.

Join PR-Net via Berkman's website www.BrianBerkman.com or email moc.namkreBnairB@teN-RP with queries. Membership is free and the only requirement is that one works as a communications professional. A nominal fee is charged to attend meetings.
