80 years young, Chateau Libertas releases limited edition blend

To celebrate its 80th birthday, Chateau Libertas will release a limited edition bottling of the 2010 vintage. Just 4000 bottles of the birthday blend have been made, featuring a unique label depicting some of the highlights of the wine's history.

As reportedly the oldest red South African blend, the birthday blend features Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. Available from the Bergkelder Vinotèque Wine Bank in Stellenbosch, its online wine shop, www.vinoteque.co.za and selected outlets of the major supermarket and liquor chains, the 750ml wine is expected to retail for around R65 a bottle.
