Its Merlot 2008 will be served on all domestic and international flights in economy class from January - March 2011 and its Chenin Blanc Semi-Sweet 2010 will be available for the month of July for all domestic and international flights in premium class.

It is among the 48 wines selected by a judging panel consisting of local and international judges, which included Dr Rowald Hepp, who serves on several panels in Germany and Alan Wong who has judged international wine competitions in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Albert Heijn has been awarded Wine Supermarket of the year for 2011 by the Wine Almanak, a well known yearly wine buying guide written by wine journalist Cuno van 't Hoff and among its 166 recommended wines are Leopard's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot and its Lookout Rosé.

"Seeing our wine take to the skies will be a very proud moment indeed," says Leopard's Leap marketing and sales director, Marius Kotze. "Albert Heijn's award for Wine Supermarket of the year reinforces our choice for distributing to its stores to increase our international footprint."
