South Africa wines win at Asian wine and spirit competition
Described as the only truly Asian competition designed specifically for the tastes and consumption preferences of the Asian market, the objective of the competition is to provide wine lovers in the region the opportunity to explore and enjoy wines and spirits and to help the trade showcase its products in the world's most dynamic market.
The competition saw a top class panel of judges from China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan and Tim Atkins MW, well known British journalist and wine judge was this year's guest international chair of judges. Categories were judged by country, region, variety and style, as well as a world-first Chinese food-and-wine-pairing category and the trophies awarded reflected the unique sensibilities of the Asian palate.
Rollo Gabb, marketing director at Journey's End, comments, "Everyone at the winery was delighted to hear that we had received these awards and received recognition for so many of our wines. 2010 has been a good year and our wines have done well at a number of wine shows. We're really looking forward to 2011 as we have more exceptional wines to release and we hope they too will be as popular with critics and consumers alike."
The wines are available nationally from specialist wine stores and leading restaurants and hotels.
