Summer lights from Robertson Winery

Robertson Winery, has released the first and only light wine range to be produced from cultivars, certified by the Wine and Spirit Board, while still maintaining the low alcohol and low sugar levels which are a prerequisite in this category of 'light'. One formidable obstacle to overcome was the reformation of the vineyard practices (as our climate does not lend itself to the production of low alcohol wines the way that Europe's does).

The Sauvignon Blanc Extra Light 2010 (8.85% alcohol and 4.7g residual sugar), goes well with sushi and sashimi nibbles. The Chenin Blanc Light 2010 (9.15% alcohol) is ideally matched with a Caesar salad and the semi-sweet Pinotage Rosé Light 2010 (9.6% alcohol), goes with sweet-and-sour culinary combinations.
