It's the Spit or Swallow awards
The first SA Box Wine Awards, aptly named Spit or Swallow, saw a panel of 25 wine enthusiasts, bloggers, winemakers and sommeliers participated in the blind tasting of 14 different wines in search of South Africa's best boxed wine.
The winning white wine was Drostdy-Hof Sauvignon Blanc 2010, in the new value-for-money 3l slimpack. Its Cabernet Sauvignon took second place in the red wine category, losing to Du Toitskloof's Pinotage/Merlot/Ruby Cabernet.
The 3l Sauvignon Blanc which goes well with fish and chicken dishes, retails for around R76 and the red around R85.
