Raats has now been appointed as the brand's full-time winemaker. The brand, comprising Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Shiraz, is owned by New York-based Cape Classics and was first launched in the US in 1996. While the US remains the largest market for Indaba, the wines are also available in South Africa and in the UK.
Raats will oversee sourcing of varietal components, work closely with various growers to impact viticulture decisions and drive the ultimate style of the wines.
