Job description
The Academy of Digital Arts (ADA) is a CHE-accredited creative institution at 186 Bree Street, Cape Town. Our students make new work every day, and most of it never reaches the people who should see it. We are looking for a storyteller who captures what is happening inside the academy, turns it into content fast with the help of AI tools, and keeps it flowing across every social channel.
The terms:Independent contractor, starting as soon as possible and running initially to February 2027, with potential to extend. About 8 hours a week, usually two half days or one full day. Open Days and events are covered by agreement, with extra hours paid separately. Capture happens on site at 186 Bree Street; editing and scheduling can happen wherever suits you.
What you make:At least seven pieces of published content a week across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and LinkedIn: short form video, carousels, photography, Stories and behind the scenes material. You make them in batches from set templates, using Claude to edit, caption and adapt, and Blotato to schedule. You also supply creative for our paid campaigns.
How the work happens:- Capture: walk the studios, film projects in progress, interview students and lecturers, collect finished artwork.
- Produce in batches: a week of posts in one sitting, from our templates.
- Work in sprints from one open day to the next, building momentum as the dates approach.
- Tell four stories: Concept Art, Game Development, Graphic Design and Product Design (UX/UI).
- Measure what worked each week and do more of it.
Student work is the hero of everything we post. Use AI freely to animate artwork and build videos, but the original artwork always stays unaltered.
How to applyThere is no CV and no cover letter. Read the full role and start the 12 minute written interview at www.ada.ac.za/careers. Applications close 31 October 2026.
