Junior Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will assist with daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, support month-end processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of the business. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career in a dynamic business environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with capturing and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Reconcile bank, creditor, and debtor accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
• Maintain an organized filing system for financial records and supporting documents.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide requested information when required.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Perform general finance and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1 to 2 years' experience in an accounting or finance-related role (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with accounting software will be advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the accounting profession.
