Debt Solutions 4U, the NCR-registered debt counselling practice (NCRDC2423), has been confirmed as a full member of the Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa (DCASA) and is now listed as a member of the National Debt Counselling Association (NDCA), the body whose members include DebtBusters, National Debt Advisors and Meerkat.
The practice is not framing the news as an award. It is framing it as two more places a consumer can check.
“A badge on a website proves that somebody owns image-editing software,” says Rowan Breeds, Lead Debt Counsellor at Debt Solutions 4U. “A register entry proves that an organisation which does not work for us has looked at our paperwork and written our name down. If you are about to hand a stranger your payslip and your bank statements, that is the difference that matters.”
Every legitimate debt counsellor in South Africa holds an NCRDC number from the National Credit Regulator, and the NCR publishes its register online. DCASA keeps a member register on its own website, with a page for each member counsellor. The NDCA lists its member practices on its site and routes consumers to them through its Start Debt Counselling page.
Debt Solutions 4U now appears on all three. Its website links each of its membership marks to the relevant register rather than to a page of its own, so a reader can verify the claim without taking the practice’s word for it.
The practice has been a DCASA member since July 2021. Its full membership, covering three registered counsellors, was confirmed in September 2026 under membership number 0869: Rowan Breeds (NCRDC2423), Wesley Sparkman (NCRDC1887) and Tania Dekker (NCRDC1015), founder of partner practice Debt Free with Armani. Full members are bound by the Association’s code of conduct.
The NDCA, established in 2017, represents some of the largest debt counselling firms in the country. Debt Solutions 4U is one of ten counselling practices on its roster.
The practice publishes the South African Financial Pressure Index (SAFPI) every month from its own debt review applications and credit bureau records. In the rolling June to August 2026 window, the median applicant was already committing 58.4% of net monthly income to debt repayments before rent, transport or food, across 1,174 applications with complete figures. More than half of applicants were above the 50% line.
“Somebody in that position is not in a state to do due diligence,” says Breeds. “They are answering the first advert that promises relief. That is exactly the person the debt review removal scammers go after, and it is why DCASA had to issue a formal warning about those operators in 2024. The fix is boring. Check the register before you sign anything. It takes three minutes.”
The practice has seen the cost of not checking. Of 524 people who used its free NCR status check to find out whether they were under debt review, 44.1% were already listed, many without knowing it.
NCR register: search the counsellor’s name or NCRDC number on ncr.org.za and confirm the status reads active. No number, or no active record, means walk away.
DCASA register: search the member directory on dcasa.co.za. Debt Solutions 4U’s entry is under Rowan Breeds, membership 0869.
NDCA: the member roster is on the home page of ndca.org.za. Debt Solutions 4U is listed there with its NCR number.
If a “debt help” service cannot be found on the first register, nothing it says about the other two matters.
Debt Solutions 4 U (DS4U) is an NCR-registered debt counselling practice based in Centurion, Gauteng, helping over-indebted South Africans regain control of their finances through debt review. It is a full member of DCASA, a listed member of the NDCA, and a Debt Review Awards top-ten finalist in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The practice runs its assessment and onboarding on DS Chat and publishes SAFPI monthly at debtsolutions4u.co.za.
