What a year...!

I don't know about you, but for us here at Bizcommunity.com, 2010 has rushed by, and from a retail point of view, it appears that it is ending on something of a higher note than we might have expected.

Thanks to rate cuts by the Reserve Bank and a number of other factors, consumers are flusher than we could have hoped for, and that is good news for the retail trade - not to mention the banks, as consumers splash out. Here's hoping that reason prevails and the festive fun doesn't end up as financial fury a few months down the line.

This is our last newsletter for 2010, our first in 2011 being scheduled for 10 January, so all that remains is to wish you all the very best festive season, and best wishes for an even better 2011 - and thank you for your support during 2010. Believe me, we do appreciate it.

The only thing missing in Rosebank is common sense!
[Michael Said] Arriving at the new and almost completed Rosebank hub recently, situated between the Zone and the area that once housed Tijuana 220 and Baccarat, I discovered the place had changed quite dramatically since my days of body shots, Corona Beer and Gypsy Kings. You see back in the day, you could almost count the restaurants within 3km of us on one hand. There was Tijuana 220, Baccarat, Late Nite Al's, Moosehead, Bourbon Street and few others; today you would need a Cray Supercomputer to count the eateries, add up the setup costs, calculate the square meters, the seats, the wage bill, the rental bills and most importantly the turnovers required in order to pay for all of this.
