MCQP goes flower power fabulous

The theme for Mother City Queer Project 2010 is Flower Power. Embrace the swinging 60s and free love. MCQP goes flower power fabulous

The theme and venue for the Mother City Queer Project has been announced and the event promises to be bigger, better and greener than before - both literally and figuratively. "Flower Power" sets the scene for this year's MCQP on 18 December, 2010, and where better to go green than our new Cape Town stadium in Green Point. As the first post-World Cup lifestyle and entertainment event to be held at the stadium, the MCQP is setting the bar very high and party-goers can look forward to five separate indoor levels with nine different areas, each with its own unique sub-theme:

* The Mercedes Benz, Red Bull "Red Carpet" entrance
* A main house dance floor
* A 70s' dedicated disco dance floor
* A live bandstand stage hosting, among others, Flash Republic from Johannesburg
* A gay anthems caberet dance floor
* An X-factor - live stage
* Dedicated smokers' lounges
* Chill-out lounges and wine bars
* A VIP lounge with dedicated parking, entertainment, snacks and loads of bubbly
* And - another first - a hippie trance dance floor.

MCQP Mystery ...

Cape Town has been abuzz with curiosity regarding a secret launch taking place behind the scenes at MCQP. The organisers Ian McMahon and Tommy Patterson have remained tight-lipped, dismissing this as an unfounded rumour. However, our sources have informed us that something big is about to be revealed - so unique and fabulous that only a select few know about the "BIG REVEAL".

Within one of the biggest dance parties on earth (hence Cape Town Stadium as the event space) at MCQP on 18 December, an exclusive surprise with a strong gay focus will take place, attracting hot celebrity guests and growing local and international media interest.

What do YOU think is the "BIG REVEAL"? Be the first in Cape Town to bear witness to the very special unveiling of the "MCQP Mystery'".
