×Colyn Du Toit
I am a Go-getter that thrives on my passion to succeed and achieve results.
I am a Hands on Multi Functional Expert in diverse industries and disciplines,(Operations , General Management , Logistics , Financials , Warehouseing , Distribution in the FMCG Milieu).
Show profile Hide profileFew people really understand that being the National General/Operations Manager for 1Stops (Multiple Rigid Franchisors) or negotiating Contracts with "Demanding" National Customers (PNP etc) Or Managing a35 000sqm DC with High Value-FMCG OR Manage a Fleet of 300 trucks Or Manage the Operations, S/C , Financials, Warehousing, HR , Distribution , Logistics and Admin for a Reputable company/ies ALL BOILS DOWN to the same rules of Engagements: (From The Congo to Timbactoo).
Acknowledgement AND Respect for the biggest Asset-Humans. Honesty, Trust, Integrity, Appreciation, Strict Discipline,Rigid yet even balanced, Lead by Example roll up your sleeves approach a Keen eye for opportunities, Clear Objectives and Controls, Controls, CONTROLS!
Most of achievements is a result of Investing in my Subordinates and fellow employees, no not in monetary terms (that to) but in time, appreciation and sharing knowledge and skills.
We live in a Cruel and Competitive World.. @sum ((("Humans+Money")) + (("Commodities + Consumables Stock items+ IP"))+((((Opportunities /risk*Optimization))))*(((([Greed + Abuse + Ignorance]))))= ((((Disaster))) if not contained, Managed and controlled.
I have realised in Practice and by experience You can be a Operations Manager or MD of a Company and advise companies on how to Buy, Store, Distribute and sell Frogs to Platinum, if your systems are in place, subordinates KNOWS and are trained to achieve and all the variables within your control is tied down, well HiccUps and other problems are taken with a smile and on the trot having Fun .
Being involved with Multiple cultures with vast spectrum of goods in and for diverse companies the most common things I identify and address are taught by Universities, colleges etc etc etc I will not Bore you with this nitty-gritty Academic Stuff. Saying this I would like to conclude my application:
It is not a stretch to realise that many golden opportunities for seeing things differently and for doing things differently, maybe getting lost as we increasingly spend more time keeping up than taking stock. What we really need is to learn to navigate through this changing world more effectively, not quicker.
The realisation is that the modern business world is perhaps not as conducive to productivity and innovation as we had hoped.
Safe to say that the "Art", skills and ability of 360degree Contemned PRO-action is a useful and crucial part of my "make-up".
The first thing we need for innovation is fascination with wonder (curiosity in its particularity), we are taught instead to decide ... to decide is to kill off all possibilities but one. A good innovational thinker is always exploring the many other possibilities, staying ahead AND on the EDGE.
Lack of curiosity is the breeding ground for inflated confidence and ignorance, getting stuck in one paradigm, seeing the world through a single lens and ignoring multiple perspectives severely limits our ability to innovate.
And I rest my case with a Bag full of Experience,Accolades, Knowledge and HUNGRY for a Challenge!
