New president of convocation appointed at the UCT

Professor Barney Pityana, who was born in Uitenhage and grew up in Port Elizabeth, has officially assumed the position of president of convocation at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Pityana will be travelling across the country as a brand ambassador for the university. He will chair discussions relating to matters about the university. The convocation is the highest governing structure of the institution.
