Sales Executive - African Insider

Habari Media is seeking a Sales Executive to join our dynamic sales team on African Insider, our print and digital news platform covering current affairs across the continent.
African Insider carries a broad continental outlook while maintaining a key focus on serving both South African and wider African audiences. The platform delivers credible, accessible, and timely coverage of politics, business, technology, sport, and lifestyle — building audience loyalty, driving traffic, and delivering value to advertisers and partners across South Africa and the continent.
The successful candidate will sell digital advertising and partnership opportunities across the African Insider platform.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Sell digital advertising space, with a proven track record in sales.
• Identify and define target audiences across South African and broader African markets.
• Conduct research to understand client and business needs.
• Source and maintain new clients and leads.
• Inform potential clients of the African Insider brand and its benefits.
• Develop an "angle" that affirms the relevance between the client's product or service and the platform's continental and local audience reach.
• Confidently close deals.

Requirements

• Previous telemarketing and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong command of English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to handle objections and close deals.
• An interest in and understanding of African current affairs, politics, and business is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
• Resilient, enthusiastic, and professional.
• Target-driven with a strong work ethic.
