Six Platter's five star rating for Elgin Wines

Three Elgin Valley producers have been awarded six Platter's five-star ratings in the 2017 Platter's South African Wine Guide. The winning Elgin producers are Werner Muller (winemaker Iona), James Downes (owner of Shannon Vineyards), and Richard Kershaw (winemaker and owner of Richard Kershaw Wines).

The six Elgin Valley wines are:

• Solace Syrah 2014
• Kershaw Elgin Clonal Selection Syrah 2014
• Kershaw Deconstructed Chardonnay Lake District Bokkeveld Shales CY95 2015
• Shannon Semillon 2015
• Shannon Mount Bullet 2013

The rating confirms the valley's claim that 'Wines of Elgin - Cool Climate Wines Just Taste Better' delivers excellence.
