Milkor and Hanwha Systems partner to enhance UAV surveillance capabilities

South Africa’s Milkor Aerospace and Defence has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korean defence technology leader Hanwha Systems to equip the Milkor 380 UAV with Hanwha’s advanced AESA Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).

The agreement, signed at the 2025 Paris Air Show, will deliver a fully integrated ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) solution to global defence markets. The partnership combines Milkor’s multirole UAV platform with Hanwha’s radar expertise to enable high-resolution imaging, moving target detection, and all-weather capabilities.

With over 35 hours of endurance, a 220+ kg payload, and a range exceeding 4,000 km, the Milkor 380 is built for long-range ISR and precision missions. The collaboration targets defence clients in the Middle East and international markets.
