Flora is Halaal in South Africa
Reacting to news and email reports about the use of porcine products in Unilever Australia's Flora margarine products, the SANHA (South African National Halaal Authority) announced on Thursday, 27 August 2009 that this is not the case in South Africa. SANHA stated the present Flora products in South Africa are formulated differently and neither Flora Light nor Flora Extra Light products contain any pork gelatine and are in fact free from animal/meat derived ingredients. The Flora products manufactured in South Africa are accordingly Halaal.
