Sweden: Stronger trade relations with Angola

LUANDA: The Swedish government decided on Friday, 3 october, 2008 to open a trade office at the Swedish Embassy in Luanda. The office will be a natural part of the embassy's activities and will be run by the Swedish Trade Council.

“By opening a trade office in Luanda we will be able to strengthen and develop our trade relations with Angola. This will give us a great opportunity to contribute to increased growth both in Angola and in Sweden,” says Minister for Trade, Ewa Björling.

Sandra Dias dos Santos Skogar was appointed trade commissioner in Angola.

Sweden's trade with Southern Africa is currently in a very expansive phase. At the end of October, Minister for Trade, Ewa Björling will be visiting four countries in the region. Among these is Angola, one of the fastest growing economies in Africa today.
