The course aims to examine the interdependence between quality and ethics in journalism, and seeks to empower journalists to make ethical decisions even under difficult circumstances.

Young journalists from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo are eligible to apply. Applicants should have a minimum of two years of professional experience. The deadline to apply is 24 July 2009.

The program is jointly organised by the International Institute for Journalism (IIJ), Germany and the Ghana International Press Centre. Accommodation costs and daily allowances to cover meals will be covered, within the limits of pertinent regulations, by IIJ, of global training and capacity building organisation InWEnt.
