uAfrica.com announces the winners at the 10th annual E-commerce Awards

What was once a predominately online event has manifested into a night of glitz and glamour at RoomFive in Rivonia, where the who's who and the up-and-coming entrepreneurs of the e-commerce industry celebrate the 10th year of the prestigious South African E-commerce Awards.

"The E-commerce Awards have previously been exclusively an online event, however in 2013 and 2014 we announced the winners and runners-up at the South African E-commerce Conference - incorporating it into the concept "everything e-commerce". However as it is the 10th year we want to focus purely on the awards by hosting an event dedicated to celebrating this achievement," says Andy Higgins, uAfrica.com MD.

From over 200 entrants the Top 50 was announced after a stringent evaluation process. These 50 websites then underwent a second round of evaluation to determine the winners and runners-up of the various categories.

The winner of South Africa's Favourite E-commerce Website was determined by a round of public voting that yielded over 90,000 votes. Takealot.com was crowned South Africa's Favourite E-commerce Website by receiving the most public votes from the 90,000.
