Dawn celebrates women with POWA
A delicious afternoon tea-time spread was served, but the most relaxing part of the afternoon kicked off when the ladies were able to experience the Dawn Day Spa massages. Hand and shoulder massages were enjoyed as the women de-stressed. At the end of their massages, each lady was presented with a Dawn Day Spa vanity bag with mini Dawn lotions.
Mbali Mlotshwa, the Face of the Dawn Day Spa spent the afternoon with the ladies, speaking around the topic of abuse and the importance in finding strength within themselves to move forward: "The Dawn Day Spa is here to remind us all that every woman deserves to feel her most beautiful - no matter the circumstance."
Stand together
Mbali added that women's month was a perfect opportunity to assist in supporting charities such as POWA. "It's initiatives like this that help me spend time with women less fortunate who have been through so much and who deserve to know they are respected, loved and valued. As women we need to stand together and find strength to move forward.
"Physical and mental abuse happens on many levels and is common amongst women from various walks of life, and although it may take time to find your feet again, positivity and belief in yourself is so important to help you along the way. Let loose of negative energy and find a way to come out of this a stronger woman," she said.
Mbali added that she hoped something as simple as a massage would make the world of difference to brighten their day. In addition, part of the visit was to hand over a donation from the Dawn Day Spa - a much needed electric stove, a small fridge as well as various personal and household brands sponsored by Unilever.
The Dawn Day Spa will be visiting a further two charities this month and will end off the campaign initiative by rewarding a school with a pre-matric dance spa treatment.
