The fundraising event will be held at the Sandton Sports Club at George Lea Park on Saturday, 27 September from 10pm, where the cooking contestants will prepare a potjie dish for members of the South African Chefs Association, which is recognised as a leading authority on cuisine in the country. The judging panel will then score the recipes, and once their marks have been tallied, the best pot will win the coveted title and be crowned 'Potjie King'.
The entry fee is R30 per adult or R250 per team of up to ten people. Competition entries close on 18 September.
The kids' corner will be open to children between the age of 12 months to 12 years and the ticket price is R10 per child. Other activities on the day include a craft beer garden for adults with live music and entertainment. The South Africa vs Australia rugby match will also be broadcast live; kick-off is at 17:05pm.
