Local production house scoops AICP Awards

Egg Films director Brent Harris' MTV ‘Staying Alive' commercial, produced for Y&R New York, recently won two AICP Awards for Art Direction and Public Service. The commercial was included in the AICP Show's one-hour compendium of outstanding commercials selected for creative excellence and achievement and was screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The commercial, shot in Cape Town, was part of an initiative where seven of the world's leading advertising and marketing agencies collaborated to produce a new multi­platform campaign, Turn on TV, on HIV/Aids prevention in support of the Global Media Aids initiative.

The agencies, which include 180 Amsterdam, Cake, Lowe Worldwide, Ogilvy, Wieden + Kennedy 12 and Y&R, have partnered with WPP and MTV Networks International to debut the campaign on World AIDS Day, 1 December 2007.
