“Whilst we can all agree this year hasn’t been easy, we’ve had to challenge ourselves to be forward thinking, adapt to a fluid business environment and drive fresh ideas to overcome challenges brought by such unprecedented times. We however remain optimistic about the year 2021,” says Simlindele Manqina, CDC corporate communications and stakeholder relations manager.
It has taken a lot across all sectors to try and resuscitate business sensible solutions. Businesses have found themselves in difficult spaces, some have even closed off. The CDC continues to try and engineer positive sentiments in investor operations in stimulating economic activity.
The SEZ currently has more than four projects under construction, which are likely to become operational in 2021. These include DHL Logistics - R156m, APLI - R264m, multi-user facility - R71m and the Aquaculture Development Zone - R259m developed in the Zone 10 of the Coega SEZ. The projects have brought about much needed jobs culminating in the creation of over 400 construction jobs thus far.
