House prices rising, but sales may be softer
Business Day and Fin24 report that house prices continued to rise in June this year with the FNB House Price Index showing 8,9% year-on-year growth in June after year-on-year growth of 8,6% in May.
According to the Business Day and Fin24 reports, FNB says that this is the highest year-on-year growth in prices since June 2010. However, on a month-on-month basis, house price growth has gradually lost momentum from a peak of 1,65% in January to just 0,82% in June.
