Samsung adds three new apps to local apps store

Samsung has announced three new mobile applications to it's Samsung Apps Store: MXit Mobile chat, DStv Mobile Decoder and Pricecheck.co.za, which are all available on relevant Android Samsung devices.

Xchange on Mxit

Known as a free mobile instant messenger and social-networking application, it has a suite of services that has earned it the title of being the largest and most popular fully integrated mobile social network in Africa, including: one-on-one and group chat, an email facility for mobile phones and entertainment features including multiplayer games, mobile books and magazines, as well as music downloads. The MXit offering is further enriched by a classified advertising section that allows for the buying and selling of goods (Xchange) as well as movie reviews, news, sport and weather updates. MXit also provides free access to real-time counselling services, maths, physical science and learner driver info.

DStv shows via mobile

Working through the Drifta DStv Mobile Decoder, Samsung has developed the DStv Mobile Decoder app offering South Africans the opportunity to watch DStv shows on their mobile devices. Subscription is R36 per month; however DStv Premium subscribers pay no subscription cost. All Rugby World Cup games are currently being broadcast live to DStv Mobile compatible devices.

Compare online shopping prices

Samsung, in partnership with PriceCheck.co.za, is now offering the consumer the opportunity to compare online shopping prices using the PriceCheck.co.za mobile application. Charl Mocke, product owner for mobile, MIH at PriceCheck.co.za said: "This application provides the consumer with immediate insight into the best online deals available, saving both time and money."
