Five-a Side Soccer Tournament teams with up-to-date career advice

A five-a-side soccer tournament teamed with world-class career advice and people from diverse backgrounds - that's what it's all about on the CareerBuild Annual Youth Day Soccer Tournament to be held on Monday, 17 June 2013 at Old Parks Sports Club, 1 Garden Avenue, Randburg (off Jan Smuts) from 8 am-4 pm (team registration from 7.30 am-8 am).

Youth Day commemorates and celebrates bravery amongst the youth of South Africa and CareerBuild is aiming to create a platform for young people to discover their own unique talents and develop skills that they can use to help reconstruct our society.

The company believes that our youth has huge potential and is dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth to discover their personal bent, in order to use it to the full. For employers, the solution to recruitment challenges is finding the right fit for their organisation for any given vacancy. CareerBuild assists by using career profiling tools developed to help young people focus their efforts, whether educational or entrepreneurial, on careers that are most suitable for their innate abilities, talents and gifts.

On Youth Day, the company calls on corporate and community organisations (those optimistic about the future!) who would like to encourage and support SA youth to participate, by sponsoring a team of their own to join in the tournament or alternatively, sponsoring a community team and/ or show-casing their products or services, at this event.

The National Development Plan of the National Planning Commission prioritises: Quality Education; Uniting the Nation; Building a Capable State and Job Creation. Therefore in an effort to fight poverty and inequality, we all, as civil society (including young people of an economically active age) as well as Businesses and Government, have a role to play in achieving an equitable and prosperous society.

CareerBuild aims to be a mechanism by which this can be achieved.
