CIMA elects new female chairperson of the Ghana CIMA branch
Her role will be to lead the accounting profession and support members and students in Ghana. This includes work to help promote and accounting finance skills, career opportunities, ethical standards and diversity.
Miss Oye completed her CIMA examinations in the United Kingdom in 1995 and has been involved at the Ghana branch since 2013. Throughout her career (of more than 25 years), she has held several positions, aptly and fully preparing her to fulfil her new role as chairperson.
She has experience in consultancy, manufacturing, distribution, as well as non-profit organisational management and has worked at companies such as KPMG, Ghacem Ltd as well as Yara fertilisers. She is currently the senior accounting specialist with Cardno Emerging Markets USA Ltd. Her specialties include setting up accounting control systems and financial reporting.
Academically, Oye has a rich and diverse background. She holds an MBA from University of Manchester in the USA. On African soil, she has completed a bachelor’s degree in commerce (B. Comm) as well as a diploma in education from the University of Cape Coast.
With her excellent organisational and management skills and practical knowledge of accounting systems, Oye will play a critical role in leading the profession in Ghana and supporting the global work of CIMA and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
