Unilever calls future leaders to graduate programme
Applications are open for Unilever South Africa's Future Leaders Programme (UFLP) and the Unilever Leaders Internship Programme (ULIP) for eligible final year university students and penultimate students respectively.
The annual intake, which is highly sought after by many undergraduates in South Africa and the rest of the world, will give successful applicants the opportunity to receive business mentoring and hands-on internship in the fields of customer development, research and development, finance, marketing, human resources and supply chain.
"Unilever is always seeking top talent to join our high performing team that continues to craft brands with a purpose for our consumers. Furthermore, what is gratifying about the graduate programme is that the successful applicants receive first-hand experience in creating a brighter future for South Africans by ensuring our brands have relevance to our communities, children and farmers in South Africa," says Peter Cowan, Chairman of Unilever South Africa.
Developing the business leaders of tomorrow
In order to ensure that the programme offers a broad experience, graduates will not be restricted to their particular field of study, but will also be given the opportunity to be part of other functions within the FMCG conglomerate during the three-year programme.
"As the number one Top Employer of the Year in South Africa for two years in a row, we believe in investing in the future and in developing the business leaders of tomorrow through our organisation's world class experts," adds Antoinette Irvine, Human Resources Vice-President for South and Southern Africa.
To add to its employer accolades, Unilever was in 2014 rated as the third most sought-after employer in the world, according to a new study from social networking site LinkedIn.
"The UFLP enables the candidates to grow and make a positive impact not only on their professional and personal life, but also in their communities. This underpins Unilever's philosophy to 'Do well by doing good'," concludes Cowan.
Applicants have until 9 April to submit their applications to join the leading edge employer.
