Supra Dupra times
Supra Familias the record label owned by Hunter Kennedy and Pierre Greeff threw a supra dupra party at the Assembly this past Saturday featuring Thieve, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Jack Parow and the Wedding DJ's who all performed upon a stage decorated with pretty koki pen rain clouds.
The BizLounge has not been much of a Thieve fan in this fast, finding them a little dull and unprofessional at certain gigs, but I must admit last Saturday I had to eat my words somewhat. Ok I don't think I am ever going to be a Thieve fan but I have to give them props for putting on a lively and much tighter show than usual. There was a good chemistry between the band and they delivered their upbeat pop rock with conviction.

Die Heuwels Fantasties have fast been spreading their brand of Electro Afrikaans rock around and have already racked up a fair amount of accolades this year. Die Heuwels Fantasties consist of Pierre Greeff as front man and Hunter Kennedy and Johnny De Ridder (from Fokofpolisiekar) on guitar. Demonstrating some of that Bellville brotherly love and support Den Hartog and Philip Erasmus from Thieve filled in for an absent Hunter on Saturday night. A fun danceable band all around. Here is Pille for Kersfees by Die Heuwels Fantasties to get you in the festive mood.
Super Afrikaans rapper Jack Parow took to the stage next decked out in his customary ridiculously long cap, this time in a fetching leopard print design and board shorts and spat it out hard and dirty. Make way for Meneer Parow fever this guy is fast becoming a cult icon. For more on him read the interview we had with him a little while back. Jack Parow Pirate of the Caravan Park
