Rockabilly culture
Founded in 2012 by two Rebel Bombshells, DRTB is a platform where all related aspects of the 1940s and 1950s Rockabilly culture can be celebrated together in a one-day festival. Expect classic cars, custom bikes, funfare rides (including a Ferris wheel), fashion, food, live music and the rare opportunity to see Hot Rods agitate the gravel at the oval DRTB Dirt Track.
Festivalgoers are greeted at the entrance with a show of vintage cars and bikes. MAC cosmetics and barbershops will be available. Vendors will be selling their custom made items, including cushions, jewellery, accessories, surfboards, helmets and more.
There is also an area where parents can leave their children with professional child minders.
Last year, in collaboration with the Blue Haired Betty, we hosted South Africa’s first pin up pageant, the Miss Bombshells Betty 2015, with Marilyn Deathrow walking away with the title. The Miss Bombshell Betty will be held once again this year.
Live bands will be jamming on the main stage covering genres such as Blues, Country, Rockabilly and Psychobilly throughout the day. Later on in the evening, there will be a Burlesque dance.
