The Cape Town Comedy Strip launches
The Cape Town Comedy Strip, an idea of Mamello 'Mum-z' Mokoena, has been launched on Cape Town's famous Long Street. The Strip is a hub of different venues on Upper Long Street, hosting stand-up comedy evenings on different nights of the week and will feature local and international comedians.
The venues for the Cape Town Comedy Strip include:
- The Dubliner, 251 Long Street: The Dubliner at Kennedy's is the first authentic Irish pub on the strip and offers live music every night. Now The Dubliner is including regular comedy nights, every last Tuesday of each month as part of the Cape Town Comedy Strip. The next show at The Dubliner will be on Tuesday, 28 April and will feature: Mum-z, Shimmy Isaacs, Khanyiso Kenqa, Liam Bento, and Gino Fernandez. Tickets from www.quicket.co.za
- Beerhouse, 223 Long Street: Beerhouse is a curator of craft beer and its popularity is due to it's bright, fresh, well-lit open-plan ambience, and its selection of over 100 different craft beers. Recently, Beerhouse launched the Mash Tun Room, an entertainment room that hosts quiz nights, live music and now regular stand-up comedy, every first and last Wednesday of each month as part of the Cape Town Comedy Strip. Doors open at 8pm and comedy starts at 8.30pm. The next show at the Beerhouse will be on Wednesday, 29 April and will feature: Martin Davis, Conrad Koch, Yaaseen Barnes, Tracy Klass and KG.
