Designs on Durban July victory
Designing to the theme, "It's a Blooming Great Day", 19 Eastern Cape student designers yesterday, 26 May 2010, staked their claim for the top spot as the Eastern Cape winner in this year's Vodacom Durban July Young Designer Awards.

Among the models parading at the judging event were Maryke de Beer (for second-year NMMU student designer Jessica Moore), Zipho Rapiya (for second-year NMMU student designer Tina Ngxokolo), and Jocelyn Hustler (for second-year NMMU student designer Catherine Polis).
The judges chose the natty Garden of Eden-inspired outfit by Ngxokolo as the winning design.
Student designers from across the country will gather at the top racing event on 31 July.
